Trots Dogs is an independent business and we like to keep things local. As a result of the love we have for walking in and bonding with the local community, we service only coastal Long Beach. It's cost effective and lowers our carbon footprint.

A Trots walk is not your average dog walk. Our daily pack walks are ideal for exercise and socialization. Every day, we pick everyone up and they walk in a calm, follower state through our favorite areas of Long Beach. Keeping everyone calm and following our lead not only prevents altercations, but creates good habits when there are distractions like crowds of people, outdoor patios with the smell of food, skateboards, bikes, other dogs and of course, cats and squirrels!
We give consistent communication that a walk is easy and fun and the more they make good choices, the more they get to experience. We often get stopped for photographs as people love seeing so many well behaved dogs. It's a great time and we enjoy every minute! You're not just getting dog walkers, you're getting dog trainers who care about your dog's physical and mental well being and help you achieve the relationship you want with them. *Walk length may vary depending on the weather and well being of the dogs.
On an average walk, your dog will learn: * Boundaries - The crate, the front door, the front gate, the car door, keeping appropriate space with other dogs and people and of course, the front line on a pack walk. We don't allow rushing through thresholds. Patience is key. * Getting in and out of a car calmly and comfortably with other dogs. * Socialization outside on a walk and also in close quarters. * Leash manners - Loose leash heel, passing dogs, skateboards, cats, squirrels or generally exciting things on the street without issue. * Sit/Stay - Waiting. (This may seem silly or simple but it is VERY hard for a lot of dogs)
Practicing these things on a daily walk drains not only physical but also mental energy, creating a calm body AND mind. So your dog won't come home more excited than when they left. It's like if you were to do your taxes on a treadmill! Plus, you get great photos and videos of your dog/s with the pack!
If your dog has special needs, let us know and we may be able to accommodate. All walks include potty breaks and water.
NOTE - New dogs are assessed for behavior and leash manners. We'll provide instruction for you and then can be integrated into a pack. Training sessions may be required before integration of pack walks. We are a behavior / training centered business and want everyone to be on the same page so there is consistency, making for clear communication and balance for your dog/s.
Why is a pack walk good for your dog? Dogs are pack animals by nature. See the research study here. A pack leader will migrate a pack to find food every day to ensure survival. It’s a primal instinct that brings these city dogs back to a calm, natural state and it fulfills the their need for working the body and mind. Even though they aren’t playing with each other, they are practicing the most basic and essential form of socialization and bonding, walking together.
