Jo started Trots Dog Walking in 2009 and has been on a roll ever since. What started as the premier dog skating business in Long Beach has evolved into an all encompassing behavioral endeavor.
Always craving more knowledge and experience, Jo entered the dog training program at Animal Behavior College and has been a certified obedience trainer since 2012. She's volunteered at the SPCA, Seal Beach Animal Care Center, Bark Bark Daycare, Live Love Animal Rescue and West Coast Animal Rescue.
She had an opportunity to learn from Cesar Millan himself in 2013, when she was accepted to attend a five day Training Cesar's Way Fundamentals of Dog Behavior Workshop at the Dog Psychology Center in Santa Clarita, CA. She's attended dog training courses with his Master Dog Trainer, Colleen Steckloff Aguilera of LAK9s and is now on staff as an Assistant Dog Trainer at the DPC for those same workshops with Cesar and Todd Langston of OC Packlife. She works regularly with Cesar as Production Manager for live shows, helps with special events and TV shows including, Cesar 911, Cesar's Recruit Asia and Dognation. Certified in the ForceFree Method, Jo has studied with Chicago Dog Trainers, Marc Goldberg and Patrick Farrell. She has also worked closely with Heather Beck of K9Lifeline, Cheri Lucas and Brian Agnew of Lucas Agnew.
"When I was at a low point in life, Cesar's Way spoke to me on a level higher than just walking dogs. He was helping me out of my rut. Being mindful of my state of mind was not only good for the dogs, it was good for me. Through managing my state of mind for dogs, I pulled myself up into a life that I am happy to wake up to every day. Now I have a passion for what I do and am always happy to share it with others. I am in training every day and I will be for life in efforts to achieve and maintain balance and harmony. That's what I bring to dogs and their owners. I can help you achieve a peaceful and fulfilling relationship with your dog."
